The Xingyao Site, recognized as one of China’s top ten archaeological discoveries in 2012, revealed an extraordinary excavation. Archaeologists uncovered 11 kiln relics dating from the Northern Dynasties through to the Tang Dynasty. Over 200,000 fragments of porcelain and kiln furniture were found, alongside more than 2,000 complete or reconstructible artifacts, including bricks, tiles, pottery, tricolor ceramics, porcelain, and kiln furniture.
These kilns stand out not only for their early historical period and remarkable preservation but also for their rare layout patterns. Following the excavation, the Xingyao Site Museum was constructed directly above the site and opened to the public.
A 52 by 52 meter column-free grid shelters the archaeological pit, ensuring its protection while creating an open space. The entrance hall and management offices are also situated beneath this canopy, establishing two distinct spatial zones inside and outside the pit.

Traditionally, visitor routes follow the perimeter of archaeological sites. Here, however, the main visitor flow is suspended above the ground, offering a more dynamic and engaging experience. A large circular ramp connects the entrance level to the visitor level, enhancing accessibility and interaction.
