How to Connect Columns with Indentations in Revit

Connection Method for Revit Column Indentation
You can use the Beam/Column/Connection tools to insert and retract columns effectively.

With the exception of the rules below, columns and beams behave similarly in default retraction and indentation settings. Columns should be recessed relative to beams, but not recessed relative to each other. When a beam connects at the top of a column, they form a unified framework.

Note that beams and columns cannot be connected diagonally.

When multiple recessed beams and columns share connections, they create a joint framework with the columns. However, if a column is indented, the shortest beam will extend and overlap with other beams within the connection.

When a beam overlaps a column, the symbol line will extend outward from its endpoint by the recessed distance.
