Recently, the kickoff meeting for implementing BIM technology using Luban was successfully held for the Yueqing Bay Cross Sea Bridge project by China Communications First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. Second Engineering Company. The meeting was attended by over 30 participants, including the Deputy General Manager, Chief Engineer, project team members from CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. Second Company, and the BIM implementation team from Luban.

The Yueqing Bay Cross Sea Bridge spans a total length of 8,000 meters and is approximately 33 meters wide. The bridge consists of two separate structures:
– Bridge No. 1 stretches 4,798 meters and features a prestressed concrete continuous steel structure. It includes two separate channels for one-way navigation, with the main navigation channel measuring 300 meters in diameter and a net clearance height of 30.5 meters.
– Bridge No. 2 measures 3,613 meters in length and is designed as a double-tower, double-cable concrete cable-stayed bridge. This structure has a single channel allowing two-way navigation, with a main navigation channel diameter of 388 meters, a net clearance height of 35.5 meters, and a navigation capacity of 5,000 tons.
This project will leverage Luban BIM technology to implement digital sand table management for engineering construction, prefabricated segmental beam storage management, collaborative quality and safety oversight, 3D visualization for design and disclosure, as well as BIM system development.
During the kickoff meeting, Mr. Hu from CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. Second Company emphasized the company’s strong commitment to adopting innovative technologies like BIM. After thorough evaluations, Luban Software was selected as their BIM consultant. The company has since established a dedicated BIM technology team to pilot small-scale front-end projects and develop a large-scale company-wide platform, focusing on researching BIM technology applications within their operational model.
Mr. Hu expressed confidence in the collaboration, stating, “China Communications Construction First Engineering Bureau Second Company and Luban Software are both leaders in their respective fields. We believe this BIM pilot project will deliver exceptional results.”
