For the urban renewal of historical and cultural protection areas, Qingzhu Architecture has never stopped exploring. After a long attempt at hutong renovation, we proposed the overall idea of “scientific construction technology” and began to apply it in new renovation projects.

This is the home of a news reporter. A couple raised two innocent and lovely daughters who need to attend school near the house. In addition, two elderly people who live there for a long time need to provide living space for a family of six in a 50 square meter house.

In the alley, Qingzhu Architecture has accumulated rich experience in solving practical problems through technology, so the focus of the project is on spatial design. A two-story bedroom was designed using a sloping roof. As the main body of the house is a traditional courtyard building, the beams of the house block the unified use of the second floor space. Therefore, stairs were set up on both sides of the first floor to reach the two bedrooms respectively. A small door was designed in the bedroom to facilitate adults to take care of children. In order to increase the fun of the house, an area outside the second floor was specially selected for children to read and play, while also enriching the overall space.

This project has undergone basic treatments such as insulation and heat preservation indoors, implementation of moisture-proof measures on the ground, and reinforcement of traditional wooden structures. The equipment includes electric underfloor heating, electric toilets, fresh air systems, central air conditioning, etc., to achieve good comfort in the space.
