Lumion Localization Update Model
After importing the completed model into Lumion, it was discovered that the model was incomplete when adding elements such as flowers and plants. Upon modifying the model and re-importing it, aligning the updated model with the original proved challenging. Today, we will share a method to solve this issue.
1. Open Lumion and import a new model, as shown in the image.
2. Before placing the model, click the number in the upper left corner of the interface to select the appropriate layer for the model placement. Avoid placing it on the same layer as the original model, as illustrated below.
3. Place the model on the selected layer (or alternatively, hide the layer containing the original model), as shown in the figure.
4. Open the context menu below, then click on the control points of the new model, as demonstrated.
5. Click the Select button above, choose Select All Similar, then click on the control points of the original model. Next, select Transform → Align, as shown in the image.
6. At this stage, the new and old models are perfectly aligned. Hide the layer containing the new model from the top-left corner, delete the old model, then reveal the layer with the new model again, as illustrated.
7. This method also works for positioning different constructions that share the same origin and can be used directly for model updates.
Summary: Lumion’s powerful visualization capabilities significantly streamline post-production for video projects. By following the steps outlined above, you can quickly locate and align a modified model that has been re-imported, enabling you to proceed efficiently with the next phase of your work.
