Implementation of Transition Section between Up and Down Flip of Revit BeamIn practical engineering, when the main beam is long, the size is large, and it affects the building clearance, the beam needs to be flipped up and down at certain positions (column positions) (it is not recommended to flip up and down unless absolutely necessary), which requires processing of the flipped up and down positions. The general processing method in engineering is shown in Figure 1
We know that the beam family in the system family does not have a tilted segment at the end of the beam, so how to implement the tilted segment at the end of the beam in Revit? There are generally two methods: (1) creating a parameterized family file for the end of the beam; As shown in Figure 2
After the production is completed, it is necessary to adjust the material of the family file to be consistent with the beam. After adjustment, move it to the corresponding position of the up and down flipping beam and connect the two components. (2) The method of utilizing the surface opening function is to use the opening function to pull out a transition section when pulling the beam, cut off the excess part through the surface opening. As shown in Figure 3
When using this method, it is important to choose the surface that needs to be edited to be perpendicular to the side of the beam, and the opening surface should completely cover the excess part of the beam, which is convenient because the transition section of the beam itself is part of the beam and will not be missed during statistics.
