Located in Hanoi, this school is uniquely designed to accommodate the city’s asymmetrical terrain and the surrounding buildings. The campus includes facilities for kindergarten, primary, and secondary education. It features separate playgrounds tailored to different age groups, as well as a shared playground accessible to all students.
To adapt to the uneven landscape and provide distinct playgrounds, the design incorporates a winding layout that navigates the site. This includes a series of continuous spaces, such as loops and a flexible bridge corridor system, offering dynamic and engaging environments for users.
The classrooms are oriented north and south to maximize natural light and ensure good ventilation. The sports field, gymnasium, and cafeteria are strategically placed downwind to minimize noise disturbance. The building’s form symbolizes the growth of children, with spaces arranged along pathways that correspond to different age groups. The journey begins with the kindergarten building, followed by the primary school on the ground floor and the secondary school on the upper floor of the next building. The fifth floor is dedicated to art studios, music rooms, and research facilities.
Between the learning areas and the rooftop garden, a series of vibrant gardens featuring diverse plant species have been integrated. These gardens not only spark students’ interest in biology but also serve as natural insulation and air filtration systems.
The building facade features windows of varying sizes and colors arranged in a playful, random pattern to create a lively and child-friendly atmosphere. Above each window, colorful ceiling elements provide shade and protect classrooms from angled sunlight. The primary colors used across the school are neutral white and brown, complemented by the vibrant louvers around the swimming pool and restaurant, adding creativity and fun to the exterior.
The main playground situated between floors allows natural light and ventilation to penetrate the interior while serving as a noise buffer. The rooftop garden and green playground create a vibrant green oasis amidst the surrounding urban buildings, offering a striking aerial view.
