This project is set within a diverse landscape featuring multiple terrains and numerous mature trees that must be preserved. The design challenge was to minimize disruption to the natural ecosystem by prioritizing the protection of trees, soil, and water, while creating structures that harmonize with the surrounding environment.

Nestled beneath the trees like a boat on water, this residence offers a peaceful retreat away from the urban hustle and bustle, providing homeowners a sanctuary to rest and recharge. The ground levels are elevated to ensure proper natural drainage, prevent moisture accumulation, and reduce the project’s carbon footprint. Living spaces are thoughtfully arranged to follow the natural terrain and existing vegetation, fostering a strong connection to nature. The house itself is integrated into the ecosystem, with a wide thatched roof that casts shade and blends seamlessly with the surrounding greenery, effectively controlling solar heat gain.

By combining local materials with modern technology, this project introduces a new architectural form that remains environmentally friendly and sustainable. The residence features a robust structure with reinforced concrete foundations and columns, adobe brick walls, light steel trusses, and a multi-story thatched roof. Wastewater is managed using a five-chamber septic tank system paired with wetland technology for treatment, irrigation, and toilet use. This closed-loop ecosystem supports self-sufficiency, renewability, and long-term maintenance.
