PH2 Residence is a single-family home characterized by a three-slope roof, entirely clad in weathered tin plates by BIM engineers. The materials used are sourced locally from rural settings, where agricultural and industrial structures show various stages of decay. This “architect-free” building, free from pretension, offers a reference for building materials and embraces a straightforward, unembellished design language.

The project’s development history highlights the unique challenges it presented and reflects the conceptual evolution from one design to another. Initially, two residential designs were proposed, but both exceeded the investor’s budget. With the project at risk of cancellation, the team revisited an earlier concept known as the “Foreigner’s Chilean Residence” to find an alternative approach.

This design reflects a postmodern interpretation of Le Corbusier’s Maison Domino concept, focusing on iconic and practical needs within a vague environment. The building is designed to be portable and easy to assemble at any location.
