How to Create Irregular Soil Mounds in Revit
When modeling in Revit, there are many instances where you need to create irregular structural forms that require the use of volumetric shapes. In this guide, we will explain the process of creating irregular soil mounds.
1. Start by selecting the Adaptive Metric Standard Model family template to create a new family, as illustrated below.
2. Draw several reference lines and assign parameters for length and width accordingly, as shown in the figure.
3. Place point elements at the designated locations, as demonstrated in the image.
4. In the 3D view, select all point elements and adjust their positions downward in the elevation view to the desired height, as depicted.
5. Use the Spline Curve Through Points tool to connect the points, then add parameters to some of these points for control, as indicated in the figure.
Additionally, assign parameters to individual points as shown in the illustration.
6. Finally, select all the curves to generate a solid form. Adjust and fine-tune the parameters as needed to complete the irregular-shaped soil mound, as demonstrated below.
Summary: By following this tutorial, you will learn not only how to create irregular components but also how to effectively set up conditions for building models by adding and managing point elements.
