Optimizing Mechanical Equipment Placement Using New Features in Revit MEP 2019

How to Place Mechanical Equipment Using Revit MEP 2019 New Features

Revit MEP 2019 offers powerful tools to place mechanical equipment within duct systems for your projects. Mechanical components, such as VAV (Variable Air Volume) boxes, supply air to the duct terminals throughout the project. To begin, open the desired view in the Project Browser where you want to insert the mechanical equipment.

Navigate to the System tab, then to the Mechanical panel, and select Mechanical Equipment. Next, choose a specific device type from the Type Selector.

On the ribbon, ensure the Mark during placement option is enabled to automatically label the devices as you place them. To add a leader line to the marker, select the Lead option and specify the desired length. Then configure the following tag options on the options bar.

Click in the view to place the device.

Tip: Before placing the device, press the spacebar to rotate it. Each press rotates the device 90 degrees, allowing you to adjust orientation easily.
