BIM Software Tip: Understanding the Differences Between CAD and Revit Printing
CAD Printing: CAD printing reflects line thickness and color exactly as they appear, ensuring that these attributes are accurately represented on the printed output.
Revit Printing: Revit supports WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) printing, meaning the printed result matches the on-screen display precisely. It also allows printing directly to PDF format files.
Using the Object Style settings, you can customize the line width, color, and pattern for specific categories of elements and their subcategories. Additionally, you can reassign individual or all elements within each view to display and print differently.
The line width you set corresponds to the actual printed width, and the drawing scale is automatically linked. Adjusting the view scale updates the scale properties in the drawing frame accordingly, so no extra configuration is needed for printing.
Note that each drawing should only be placed once within a sheet to prevent duplicate printing of the same drawing.
