Question:
How to Run Lighting Analysis in Revit
To access the lighting analysis tool’s user interface in Revit, you need to download the plugin. Note that this interface differs from what is shown in the video demonstration on the lighting analysis overview website. Installing the plugin will help you better understand how to use the tool to perform your analysis.
Solution:
Follow these steps to run a lighting analysis on your model:
1. Go to Manage and set your project location under Location.
2. Navigate to the Ribbon: Analysis > Lighting, then scroll down to Update.
3. Click Update to proceed with the analysis.
4. Select Research Setting. After configuring your settings, click Start Analyzing.
5. Revit will notify you that your model is being uploaded. Do not close the project while the data is uploading. Click OK to continue.
6. You will receive a message indicating that the sunlight analysis has been uploaded and is running in the cloud. You can continue working while the analysis runs in the background. Once completed, a notification will appear. Click Confirm.
7. Review and accept the analysis results.
8. Finally, go to Ribbon > Analysis > Lighting > Lighting to generate reports based on the latest lighting analysis.
