How to Draw a Revit Skylight Family
Start by creating a new family template and selecting a conventional roof-based model for your drawing. Change the family category and parameters to “Windows.” Use the opening tool to create a skylight opening, then add relevant annotations and parameters to this opening.
At the opening location, use the stretch tool to create the window frame. Lock the frame around the opening, change its subcategory to “Frame Upright,” and assign appropriate parameters and materials. Next, use the stretch tool again to create the glass element, lock it in place, and set its subcategory to “Glass.” This completes the window at the opening location.
Finally, create a new building template and load the skylight family you have created into the project. Place it on the roof where desired. Your skylight is now ready for use.
