How to Determine Active Design Options for New Features in Revit 2019
The active design option refers to the design option you are currently editing. When editing an option, the active view will display both the main model and the design options being worked on.
Tip: If your current view does not show the active design options, check the design options settings. For the relevant set of design options, select “Automatic” or manually choose the desired design options to display.
To verify whether you are currently editing a design option, you can use one of the following methods:
Status Bar: Look at the status bar at the bottom of the screen. It displays the active design option. If the status bar shows “Main Model”, it means that no design options are being edited at the moment.
If the active design option is not visible on the status bar, enable this feature by navigating to the View tab, then the Window panel, and selecting User Interface. From there, check Status Bar – Design Options.
Ribbon: Go to the Manage tab and find the Design Options panel. The dropdown list there indicates the design option currently being edited. Any changes you make will apply to this active option.
If the dropdown shows “Main Model”, it means no design options are currently open for editing.
