How to Optimize Model Display in Revit’s Graphic Display Options
The 3D view in Revit is frequently used for adjusting pipe harnesses. However, when the model is very large, rotating it can become sluggish or even freeze. To improve performance, you can adjust the graphic display settings.
One effective method is to uncheck the option to display edges in shading mode while enabling anti-aliasing smooth lines. Keep in mind, though, that to use anti-aliasing smooth lines for selection in darker views, additional settings are required.
Follow these steps to optimize your settings:
- Open the Revit Options dialog, as shown in the illustration.
- Navigate to the Graphics tab. Here, enable both Use Anti-Aliasing Smooth Lines and Use Hardware Acceleration, as depicted in the image.
- In any view, open the Graphic Display Options. Check Use Anti-Aliasing Smooth Lines and uncheck Display Edges in Shaded Mode, as demonstrated.
Why this matters: Implementing these settings can significantly improve model responsiveness, making your workflow smoother and more efficient.
