Effective Use of Revit Commands for Curtain Wall Panels
When creating curtain walls in Revit, you often encounter various types, featuring different materials and colors. At this stage, it becomes necessary to select and replace panels with a new style.
Typically, panel replacement involves switching between tabs to select the desired panel. This back-and-forth tab switching can be quite cumbersome. As shown in the image, if you accidentally click the wrong tab, you must start the process over.
A better approach is to use the discipline drop-down menu in the properties panel. By changing the setting from “Architecture” to “Structure,” you eliminate the need to toggle between tabs when selecting panels—simply left-click to choose the panel directly.
But what if you want to select an entire column or row? Or use box selection? Or click while holding down the Ctrl key? None of these methods are necessary. Instead, just select a single panel, right-click, and choose the panel selection option you want. This allows you to select panels along the vertical grid (V), horizontal grid (H), or all panels on the main surface (T). Here is a demonstration of this operation:
