On the afternoon of October 23, Hu Tianyou, Deputy General Manager of China Railway Construction Heavy Investment Group, and Wang Yehao, Chairman of Chongqing Tiefa Construction New Company, led a delegation to inspect and provide guidance on the control engineering of the Huatuopo Tunnel, part of the Chongqing-Guizhou project managed by the Fifth Company. The inspection team was accompanied by leaders from the Chongqing-Guizhou Capacity Expansion Construction Command, the Second General Contracting Department, and the Second Director’s Office of the Chongqing-Guizhou Capacity Expansion project.
The inspection focused on three main areas: geological material quality, advanced geological prediction, and a comprehensive project review. The Huatuopo Tunnel is a key focus of construction for the Fifth Company’s Chongqing-Guizhou Project Department and serves as a bottleneck for the entire Chongqing-Guizhou capacity expansion and beam erection channel. The review covered various aspects, including tunnel construction safety spacing, the quality of the secondary lining, equipment configuration, and safety measures at the construction camp. Zhang Guicang, the project manager for Company 5’s Chongqing-Guizhou project, provided a detailed on-site report about the tunnel’s construction and progress.
Wang Bijun expressed satisfaction with the safety standards, construction quality, visible progress, civilized construction practices, and the overall site planning and layout of the Huatuopo Tunnel project. He emphasized the challenging conditions faced by the tunnel, including difficult geography, harsh natural environment, and extremely limited transportation access. Despite these challenges, the Fifth Company’s Chongqing-Guizhou project team has shown resilience, proactively seeking solutions, overcoming material transportation difficulties during the rainy season, and promptly addressing various construction issues. The construction remains well-organized and orderly.
He noted that the Huatuopo Tunnel is currently under control in terms of visible progress, construction safety, and quality. Wang encouraged the project team to continue their diligent efforts, carefully organize work, overcome challenges, and implement scientific construction methods. He stressed the importance of closely monitoring project progress to ensure timely completion, contributing to the early opening and operation of the Chongqing-Guizhou capacity expansion.
As of now, the left tunnel of the Huatuopo Tunnel has been excavated 210 meters, while the right tunnel excavation has reached 170 meters. Safety, progress, and quality are all well-managed and meet the expected goals and requirements.
