Quick Methods for Connecting Misaligned Risers in Revit
During a project, it’s common to encounter two pipes that are misaligned. Here, we classify the methods for quickly connecting these pipes:
Scenario 1: Two risers in a plan view
1. As shown in the image, the two vertical pipes in the floor plan are misaligned. The AL (Align) command cannot complete the alignment in this case.
2. Connection method: Select one of the pipes and use the MV (Move) command. Pick the center of the pipe to move it. Then, switch to the 3D view and use the TL (Trim) command to complete the connection between the pipes, as illustrated in the figure.
Scenario 2: Two horizontal pipes in an elevation view (opposite to vertical pipes)
1. The two pipes as shown in the cross-section view.
2. Connection method: Use the AL (Align) command to select the center of one pipe and align it with the other pipe. Then, in the 3D view, use the Trim command to connect the two pipes, as shown in the image.
Summary: By understanding these approaches and applying them based on different situations, you can quickly and efficiently connect misaligned pipes in Revit.
