How to Fix Revit’s Inability to Print Steel Bar Symbols
When working on drawings in Revit, annotating steel bars is often necessary. However, the default font in Revit does not support steel bar symbols, which can cause display issues. Below, we will guide you through the steps to enable Revit to display steel bar symbols correctly.
1. Search for the font named “Revit.ttf” using Baidu or another search engine. Download the font file and save it. Then, install the font by placing the file into the C:/Windows/Fonts directory, as shown in the image below.
2. After installing the Revit.ttf font, open a new project. Navigate to the Annotation tab and select the Text command from the panel, as illustrated in the figure.
3. In the text panel, click Attributes, then choose Edit Type. Under the Text Font dropdown menu, select Revit as the font, as demonstrated in the image.
4. Click anywhere in the drawing area to add a text annotation. Press Shift + $ to insert the first-level steel bar symbol, as shown below.
Below is a reference for the characters used to input steel bar symbols.
Summary: By following these steps, you will not only learn how to annotate steel bar symbols in your drawings but also understand how to modify fonts in Revit. This makes the annotation process smoother and more efficient.
