How to Resolve the Fusion of Circles and Polygons in Revit
When polygons and circles are combined in Revit, the result often looks uneven, as the vertices of the polygon don’t align uniformly along the circle’s edge. The image below illustrates this common issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to properly fuse circles and polygons.
1. After creating your model, switch to the reference elevation view. Select the model and then click Edit Top, as shown in the image.
2. Draw straight lines connecting the polygon’s diagonals. For polygons with an odd number of sides, connect the polygon’s center to each vertex, as demonstrated below.
3. Use the Split Element command to cut the lines and the circle where they intersect. Then, draw the diagonal lines as illustrated in the figure.
4. Exit the editing mode by clicking Finish. This will resolve the fusion problem between the shapes, as shown in the final image.
Summary: Following these steps effectively resolves the issue of fusing circles and polygons in Revit, making it easier to create families suited for engineering projects.
