BIM technology plays a crucial role in progress control by enabling the comparison and analysis of actual versus planned progress, issuing progress warnings, analyzing deviations, and adjusting schedules accordingly.
2. Progress comparison and analysis are carried out using the progress management model alongside real-time progress data. Based on the findings from deviation analysis, the progress management model can be updated and refined (see the image below).

3. By linking actual progress data with the model, as well as the project schedule, resources, and cost information, a thorough analysis of the project schedule can be performed. This allows for a comparison between actual and planned progress, highlighting any time discrepancies in the project timeline.
4. Warning protocols can be established to define lead times and critical warning points. Using progress analysis data, these rules help generate timely project progress warnings.
5. Based on the insights from progress analysis and warning alerts, the schedule plan can be adjusted for upcoming phases, and the schedule management model updated to reflect these changes.
