How to Insert Special Symbols in Revit

How to Input Special Symbols in Revit

There are three methods to enter special symbols in Revit:

① Use the Alt key combined with the numeric keypad on Windows. Hold down Alt and type the corresponding numeric code on the keypad. For example:

  • Alt + 0178 = ² (superscript 2)
  • Alt + 0179 = ³ (superscript 3)
  • Alt + 0176 = ° (degree symbol)

Note: Be sure to hold down the Alt key while typing the numbers on the numeric keypad.

② Use input methods or shortcuts that support special characters. For example:

  • Typing “square” can convert to ²
  • Typing “cube” can convert to ³
  • Typing “degree” can convert to °

③ Alternatively, you can simply copy and paste the special symbols directly into your Revit project.
