How to Create a Ceiling Keel in Revit

The keel serves as the structural framework and base for ceiling decoration and is widely used in construction. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of creating 50 sets of keels, as illustrated in the image below. By following these steps, you can learn how to design keels, and the same methods can be applied to create other types.

Below is a side view of the 50 keel sets.

1. Production Concept: Use the “Line Based Metric Conventional Model” family template.

2. Open the “Left View” and use the Stretch command to draw the outline for the 50 keel sets.

3. Switch to the “Reference Elevation” view, drag the keel length to align with the annotation, and then lock it, as shown in the figure.

4. Save your work.
