Revit Application: DWF Markup Function
The DWF markup feature allows for quick proofreading and review of project drawing information, facilitating effective communication between CAD and Revit. But how exactly do we use it?
To begin, go to Import/Link DWF Files. In the dialog box, locate and select the DWF markup file, then click Open. This will open the Link Tag Pages to Revit Drawings dialog box.
Within this dialog, under the DWF View section, you will see the names of the sheet views marked in the DWF file. The adjacent Revit View column displays the corresponding Revit drawing views. If the sheet name in the DWF file matches a sheet name in the Revit project, the matching Revit sheet name will automatically populate in the Revit View column.
If the name of a Revit drawing view has changed after exporting to DWF, the Revit View column next to the DWF view will show <unlinked>.
When you see <unlinked> in the Revit View column, click the dropdown list and select the appropriate Revit drawing view from the options available.
If there are multiple sheet views within the Revit file where the tag should be applied, you can repeat this process. Note that this only works if the title block sizes in the other sheets match the original title block.
It is important to understand that DWF tags will be placed as imported symbols on the drawing views. These tags are locked, meaning that unless they were created in Autodesk Design Review, you cannot modify their position, nor can you copy, rotate, mirror, delete, or group them.
