A Step-by-Step Guide to Merging Reference Files in Revit

How to Merge Reference Files in Revit

1. Start by creating a new project or opening an existing one that already contains the elevation grid you need.

2. Go to Insert > Link Revit, then locate and select the elevation grid file you want to link.

3. Delete the original target high axis network. This will automatically remove the associated floor plan as well.

4. Use the Bind Link option to merge models. When merging detailed drawings, only check Attached detailed drawings. When merging elevation grids, only check Elevation grid.

5. Select the elevation grid and ungroup it.

6. Choose the necessary elevation views and generate the corresponding floor plans.

That’s it! The system will automatically create the related floor plan views for you.
