Drawing Wall Details with Detail Components in Revit
Recently, I used Revit for the first time to create construction drawings and encountered many challenges and insights along the way. I would like to share my experience here, focusing on drawing wall details using detail components. This method, which I haven’t seen covered in other tutorials, offers advantages over importing CAD drawings or creating purely 2D details, as it leverages the 3D information from the model. Essentially, it represents a secondary editing process within the model generation viewport.
Given current drafting standards, Revit’s full capabilities are not yet fully utilized. For example, after adding a plaster layer to a wall, there are issues with both the display and thickness annotation of the wall in a 1:100 scale viewport. Until software and drafting standards integrate better, this method may be somewhat excessive. I welcome any feedback or suggestions for improvement.
