BIM has driven transformative changes across the entire industry. Project management software commonly used—such as Project and Primavera—integrates WBS, OBS, CBS, PBS, and RBS data into BIM simulation 3D models, which are presented on web and smart devices. Development for iOS, Android apps, and cloud architectures holds great potential for future growth.
BIM 5D integrates model component data with human, machine, and material cost databases. Building on the BIM 4D time management model, a BIM 5D relational database (3D model + BIM 4D time + cost) is established. This enables accurate and rapid calculation of engineering quantities and significantly improves construction budgeting accuracy and efficiency.
Because the BIM database is based on precise component parameters, it can quickly provide essential information for project management throughout the project lifecycle. This effectively shortens communication and collaboration times while enhancing schedule management. The BIM schedule is linked to BIM 5D cost data, creating a dynamic cost management system based on the construction schedule.
