2. Key Responsibilities of BIM Team Members

They develop BIM workflows and management systems across teams, oversee the construction of BIM software and hardware, and formulate BIM standards and specifications. Additionally, they manage project schedules, coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration, and organize professionals to build and analyze BIM models.
BIM Engineer: Tasked with creating BIM models specific to their engineering discipline. They handle BIM applications according to project requirements, including clash detection, virtual construction, construction plan visualization, and quantity takeoffs. Proficiency in BIM software and some construction experience are required.
BIM Drafter: Supports both the BIM project manager and engineers by completing model drafting tasks. They build detailed BIM models and independently model building components. A solid understanding of civil and installation engineering, along with good graphic interpretation skills, is necessary.
