Stability Issues with Unverified Graphics Cards in AutoCAD
If you are experiencing stability problems in AutoCAD, it may be due to using an uncertified graphics card or outdated graphics drivers.
Explanation: These issues often arise when AutoCAD is run on unsupported or non-certified graphics cards, or when graphics drivers are outdated or incompatible.
To ensure optimal performance, refer to the official list of certified graphics cards and drivers here: www.autodesk.com/graphics.
If updating your graphics hardware or drivers is not an option, you can improve stability by disabling hardware acceleration in AutoCAD.
How to Disable Hardware Acceleration in AutoCAD:
- Type
3DCONFIGin the command line and press ENTER. - Click the Manual Tuning button (this step is optional in AutoCAD LT).
- Uncheck the Enable Hardware Acceleration option.
- Click OK to exit.
For AutoCAD 2011 and later versions, you can also disable hardware acceleration directly from the status bar:

- Uncheck Hardware Acceleration.
