Adjusting the Contour Line Width of Models in Revit Exported Images
Revit’s image export feature is convenient and efficient. If photo-realistic rendering is not required, you can avoid lengthy rendering times by exporting images directly from Revit. However, there are some common challenges when exporting images. For example, the maximum resolution on one side is limited to 15,000 pixels on a 64-bit system, and even lower on a 32-bit system.
Another issue I want to address is the thickness of model edges in the exported image. Sometimes, the edges appear overly thick, which obscures important details. To illustrate, here is an example using a curtain wall detail image:
So, how can this be fixed? The line width of the model in the exported image is controlled through the Object Styles settings, as shown in the image below:
After adjusting these settings, the structure appears much clearer and more detailed.
It’s important to note that these adjustments only apply to the current project and do not affect linked files. This means that if you export images including linked files, you will need to adjust the line widths within each linked file separately.
