How to Use Material Textures to Create Cultural Walls in Revit
When showcasing your model, certain elements require special attention. Using cultural walls as an example, this guide demonstrates how to quickly create stunning cultural wall effects by applying material textures in Revit.
1. Gather the necessary images of cultural wall designs.
2. Use image editing software to process and stitch these images into long panoramic textures.
3. Drawing walls in Revit: Utilize the wall component feature to divide the wall into sections, allowing for more detailed and varied effects.
4. To apply different materials to various parts of the wall, follow these steps carefully:
- In the Project Browser, set Part Visibility to Display Parts.
- Select the specific part of the wall you want to modify and uncheck it.
- Under Material Classification, add new materials to different columns to create effects such as skirting boards and wall paint.
5. Edit the material for the central section:
- Go to Appearance → Image and open the prepared cultural wall texture.
- Click on the image again to launch the texture editor, where you can adjust the size and position of the texture.
- Adjust the texture scale based on the actual length of the wall to minimize unnecessary adjustments.
6. The final result is shown in the image below. Remember to set the visual style to Realistic for the best appearance.
