How to Reset the Front View in Revit
Abstract: When working on irregular building designs, a common challenge is that some wall faces do not align with the quick orientation options on the ViewCube. To work efficiently by orienting the view perpendicular to a specific wall, you can reset the front view. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Navigate to the default front view. In the illustration, the face marked with number 1 represents the current front view.
Step 2: Hover your mouse over the ViewCube, right-click to open the dropdown menu, and select “Directional to a plane (P)”. Then pick a plane by selecting the vertical plane indicated with number 2 in the image.
Step 3: Again, hover over the ViewCube, right-click to bring up the dropdown menu, and choose “Set the view to front view (F)”. Select “The current view”. As shown, the face marked with number 2 is now set as the front view.
Step 4: To revert to the original front view, right-click on the ViewCube, open the dropdown menu, and select “Reset to front view (R)”.
