How to Fix the .NET Framework 4.0 Installation Error During Revit Setup
If you encounter issues installing Revit software, and manual installation, automatic installation, uninstalling, and reinstalling have not resolved the problem, the issue is likely related to registry permission settings on your system.
Follow these steps to adjust the registry permissions:
- Click the Start button located at the bottom-left corner of your desktop, then select Run. In the dialog box that appears, type
regeditand press Enter. - When the Registry Editor window opens, navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftInternet - Right-click on the Internet folder and select Permissions. In the permissions window, choose your user account or the relevant group under “Group or user names”.
- Under the permissions section, check Full Control and ensure the Allow box is checked. Click OK to save the changes.
- Close the Registry Editor and attempt to reinstall the .NET Framework. This should resolve the installation issue.
