How to Export Images in Revit
After completing the mechanical and electrical model in Revit software, it’s common to need model images for various documentation purposes. Instead of relying on low-resolution screenshots or time-consuming rendering, exporting images directly from Revit is a more efficient solution.
1. When exporting images, thick pipeline contour lines often appear, which can negatively impact image quality. To avoid this, set the view scale to 1:1. You can adjust the scale by clicking the scale button located at the bottom left corner of the view.
Using a 1:1 scale ratio yields the best export image quality. Smaller scales may result in less optimal image effects.
2. Next, click on Export, then navigate to Images and Animations, and select the Image button.
3. In the pop-up Image dialog box, configure the export settings according to your needs, then click OK to export the image. Pay special attention to the Export Scope section:
- Current viewport: Exports the entire model visible within this view.
- The visible part of the current viewport: Exports only the portion currently visible in the drawing area.
