How to Create Speckle Materials in Revit
Throughout a project, you might encounter various appearance styles, such as red and white protective railings. This guide will explain how to create materials featuring speckled or spot patterns.
1. Navigate to the Materials tab under the Management section and create a new material.
2. Right-click the new material and rename it to Orange Spot. Then, switch to the Appearance tab.
3. Enable the Cut option, and click the small button next to it to change the texture to a gradient.
4. Set the gradient type to Radial. Add nodes by clicking on the gradient bar. Use the Location setting to adjust each node’s position, then select nodes individually to modify their colors.
5. Adjust the origin’s position and angle to control the pattern placement. You can also change the density of the spots by modifying the Proportion setting.
6. Finally, change the colors in the appearance settings to create spots in different hues.
7. Revit offers several gradient types, including linear asymmetry, rectangular prism, diagonal, spiral, fan-shaped, and grid. Feel free to experiment with these options to achieve the desired effect.
