How to Modify the Middle Web Member Angle in a Diagonal Truss Using Revit

How to Adjust the Angle of the Middle Web Member of a Diagonal Truss in Revit

By default, the middle web member is perpendicular to the horizontal line.

When encountering the situation shown in the figure below, it is necessary to make adjustments so that the web member is perpendicular to both the upper and lower chords.

The following steps outline the process and analysis:

Go to EditEdit Type to open the Type Properties dialog box. Under the Construction section, locate the Web Orientation (Abdominal direction) option.

Click OK to apply the changes.

After this, the central web member will be perpendicular to both the upper and lower chords.

Web Orientation

This setting specifies the direction of the web member: either vertical or orthogonal. The default is vertical, which keeps the web member aligned vertically within the project.

If set to orthogonal, the web members maintain a 90-degree angle relative to the connected supporting chord.
