If you have AutoCAD installed on another computer, you can generate an ARG file by exporting the default configuration from that machine. Then, copy and import this file into your current AutoCAD installation. The export and import options can be found under the Profile tab within the Options menu of AutoCAD.
In case you do not have access to another computer, you can restore the default profile by resetting AutoCAD to its default settings. For detailed instructions, refer to How to reset AutoCAD to default values.
For certain versions of AutoCAD vertical products, the default content pack—which includes essential configurations—may sometimes be missing. To reinstall these content packs, open Programs and Features (or Add or Remove Programs on Windows XP). Then, double-click on AutoCAD to launch the Change/Modify setup. When the setup window appears, select the option to add or remove features.
As a last resort to restore AutoCAD’s default configuration, you can uninstall and then reinstall the program to perform a complete repair and fresh installation.
