Solution:
Here is the manual process for installing the Regapp ID Cleanup Utility:
First, download the utility that matches your AutoCAD version:
- Regapp ID Cleanup Utility for AutoCAD 2008/2009
- Regapp ID Cleanup Utility for AutoCAD 2010 (supports 2010-2012)
- AutoCAD 2013/2014 Regapp ID Cleanup Utility
After downloading, double-click the file to start the process. Then click on “Installation.” Even if there is no installation button, the file will decompress automatically. Accept the default location for extraction.
If you are using this utility for AutoCAD 2008/2009, you will need to browse and select the folder where you want to extract the files. Choose an easily accessible location, such as your desktop.
Next, navigate to the extracted folder, for example: C:installAutodeskCleanupReg-Utility_64bit.
Select all three files — CleanupRegapp.exe, CleanupRegapp.html, and CleanupRegappRes.dll — and copy them.
Then, locate your AutoCAD program folder, for example: C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2014.
Paste the three files directly into this AutoCAD folder.
Once the files are copied, you can delete the extracted folder and any leftover files. Only these three utility files are required within the AutoCAD program folder.
To run the utility, simply double-click the CleanupRegapp.exe file inside the AutoCAD folder. You may also create a shortcut to this executable on your desktop for easier access.
If you have multiple AutoCAD versions installed, it is recommended to rename the shortcut to indicate which AutoCAD version it corresponds to.
Please note:
- This utility only requires AutoCAD to be installed; no additional setup is needed each time you run it.
- If you have AutoCAD 2008 and 2009, you only need one copy of the tool.
- If you have AutoCAD 2010, 2011, and 2012, use the utility installed in any one of these versions.
- The same applies to AutoCAD 2013 and 2014.
- It is best to install the utility in the latest AutoCAD version you have.
Important: Sometimes Windows may block the downloaded files due to security settings. To unblock them, right-click each of the three utility files, select Properties, then click Unblock (if available), and finally click OK.
