BIM Software Tip: Summary of New MEP Features in Revit 2015 (Part 7)
Document: Enhanced Hiding
In Revit 2015, all hidden lines can now be automatically displayed in the 3D view. Within the view properties, you’ll find a new parameter called “Show hidden lines”, which controls the display of hidden lines in the current view. This parameter can also be defined within the view template to maintain consistency across multiple views.
To support the new “Show hidden lines” parameter, “Hidden Line” subcategories have been added to several categories, including structural connectors, structural steel reinforcement, and structural strengthening plates.
Previously, in earlier versions, the “Regulations” view parameter was responsible for controlling whether hidden lines appeared in the view. However, in the 2015 version, the “Regulations” parameter and the “Show hidden lines” view parameter function independently, allowing for greater flexibility in controlling hidden line visibility.
