BIM Software Tip: Summary of New MEP Features in Revit 2015 (Part 4)
Tooltip for Family Parameters
This feature, called “Tooltip for Family Parameters,” allows you to add tooltips not only for family parameters but also for newly created parameters in various contexts. Whether you add project parameters within a project, family parameters within a family, or shared parameters in the shared parameter table, tooltips can be applied.
For example, when adding family parameters, simply click the Add button to create a new parameter.
At the bottom of the parameter properties panel that pops up, you will find the tooltip settings for the current parameter.
By clicking the Edit Tooltip button, you can enter descriptive text as a prompt.
Once set, hovering over the parameter name while using the family will display the tooltip.
This feature makes it easier for family users to understand the function and purpose of each parameter.
