BIM Software Tip: Summary of New MEP Features in Revit 2015 (Part 15)
Document: Improvements in Duct and Pipe Marking
In Revit 2015, when marking the main pipeline connected to branch pipes through joints, the software can now accurately display the true flow rate.
For example, consider the following air supply system, where two joints on the main pipe branch off into two separate branch pipes. Unlike a three-way connection, the joint connection does not split the main pipe into multiple segments, avoiding the creation of several separate pipeline components.
In Revit 2014, when marking these sections as air ducts, the following issues would occur.
This problem has been resolved in Revit 2015.
Now, the markings accurately represent the actual values for each section of the pipeline. This improvement applies not only to air ducts but also to pipelines in general, and it covers parameters beyond flow rate, such as wind pressure and others.
