How to Create Inclined Columns in Revit

BIM Software Tip: How to Create Diagonal Columns in Revit

Refer to the image below for guidance:

Follow these simple steps to draw a diagonal column:

1. In the Structural panel, locate and click on “Pillar”.

2. After clicking, you will be automatically directed to “Modify/Place Structural Columns”. Select the diagonal column type and proceed to draw it.

3. Once the diagonal column is initially drawn, select it, then go to Top/Bottom Slope Style and adjust it to a horizontal level.

4. Switch to the floor plan view, select the diagonal column, and drag its top or bottom endpoint to the desired position according to the project requirements. If necessary, create a reference plane to accurately determine the position.
