BIM Software Tip: REVIT Duct Drawing Techniques
Learn how to draw left-aligned or right-aligned variable diameter transition pieces for warm ventilation ducts efficiently.
Follow the steps below, as illustrated in the images:
1. Begin by drawing the air ducts that need to be connected, aligning them on one side as shown.
Refer to the image below for guidance:
2. Select any duct segment (usually the smaller one), click on the endpoint you want to connect, and drag it toward the corresponding endpoint of the other duct. When the endpoint highlights, release the mouse button to connect the ducts smoothly.

3. Next, adjust the angle of the transition piece. Click on the variable diameter transition piece and locate the “Angle” self-regulating control.
