BIM Software Tip: How to Review Disabled Prompts in Revit
While working with Revit, prompt dialogs frequently appear. Often, to save time, users simply click the close button without carefully reading the message. However, this habit can impact model accuracy and even affect computational workloads in later stages.
So, how can you review the prompts you have previously disabled? You need to use the Warning command.
After clicking this command, a warning dialog box will appear, displaying all the warnings in the current project file that can be ignored. All such warnings will be listed here. Note: Warnings that cannot be ignored will appear the first time they occur and only allow you to click the cancel button, as the confirm button will be grayed out.
The image above shows a warning that cannot be ignored, while the image below illustrates the summary dialog box that appears after clicking the Warning command.
Some warnings can indeed be safely ignored, as they may only affect logical system connections or calculations related to flow rate, losses, and similar factors. However, some seemingly minor warnings can have significant consequences. For example, if the tag shown above is placed outside the room boundary, the room tag will turn into a question mark, which affects the drawing sheet. If multiple instances exist in the same location without intentional placement, this will also impact reporting and statistics.
At this point, you can click the plus sign to expand and view specific warning details, click the display button to locate the issue, and select “Delete selected item” to remove the problematic object.
