How to Treat Revit Profiles Without Elevation Data

BIM Software Tip: How to Handle Revit Profiles Missing Elevation

When working on a project, you might encounter a situation where drawing a section causes all elevations to disappear. To troubleshoot, try creating a new project using the same template file. If you draw a section there without adding anything else, the elevation remains visible. This inconsistency can be quite confusing. Despite multiple attempts, restoring the elevation in the original project has proven unsuccessful, and the cause of this issue remains unclear.

Even if the elevation doesn’t restore automatically, there is a workaround. Open the section view where the elevation is missing, then change the Far Clipping setting to No Clipping. As demonstrated in the image below, this adjustment will make the elevation visible again!
