BIM Software Tip: REVIT Staircase Drawing Tips
In one of my projects, I encountered an unusual staircase where the thickness of the stair treads varied. In Revit, staircases are typically limited to having a single slab thickness throughout. However, this variation can sometimes be achieved by working with two separate staircases.
So, how can we address this challenge? The solution is quite straightforward.
1. First, create a complete staircase using one slab thickness type.
2. Then, use the clipboard to paste a copy of this staircase in the exact same location.
3. Next, edit each staircase individually: delete the flight you don’t need and split the remaining landing into two parts.
4. Finally, switch the stair type on each staircase to reflect the desired thickness variations.
