Revit Designs Two Vertical Staircases Linked by Platforms

BIM Software Tip: Revit allows you to create two vertical stair flights connected by platforms.

1. Select the stairs tool.

2. In the options bar, set the Positioning Line value. For the stairway, choose the option Right as shown in the illustration. Make sure the Automated Platform option is enabled.

3. Click to start drawing the first flight of stairs.

4. When you reach the desired number of risers, click to place the platform.

5. Move the cursor along the extension line, then click to begin drawing the risers of the second flight. Note that the platform is created automatically. The default platform depth matches the width of the staircase.

6. Click to finish drawing the second flight.

7. In the Mode panel, click Finish Editing Mode to complete the process.
