How to Use the Alignment Editor in Revit
In many projects, you may need to align pipelines of varying diameters either side by side or stacked vertically. When modeling in Revit, the default method for variable diameter pipes aligns the pipeline based on its centerline. As a result, the pipes you draw will be centered by default.
So, how can you adjust the alignment of existing ducts and pipes? The solution is to use the Alignment Editor command.
To do this, first select the pipeline you want to modify using either box selection or TAB selection, then activate the Correct command.
Next, click on the Correct command again to access the alignment line options. Here, you can switch the alignment position using the nine-grid layout, and use control points to change the alignment reference. Clicking this command toggles alignment between larger and smaller pipes.
This technique allows you to fine-tune the alignment of pipes and air ducts that have already been modeled, ensuring your design meets the required specifications.
