How Revit Uses Anti-Aliasing to Create Smoother Lines

BIM Software Tip: Revit uses anti-aliasing to smooth lines

Within your project, you can enable anti-aliasing to enhance the quality of lines in your views. This setting can be applied globally to affect all views or individually for specific views as needed.

For instance, enabling anti-aliasing helps curves and thin lines appear smooth, reducing jagged edges.

· To enable anti-aliasing for a selected view:

1. Click on the Application menu, then select Options, and go to the Graphics tab.

2. Check the box for Use anti-aliasing to smooth lines.

3. Enable Allow control in Graphic Display Options for each view.

4. (Recommended) Select Use hardware acceleration (Direct3D®).

For each view where you want to enable anti-aliasing, click on the View Control Bar, then under Visual Style, select Graphic Display Options. In the dialog box, check Use anti-aliasing to smooth lines.

· To enable anti-aliasing for all views:

1. Click on the Application menu, then select Options, and go to the Graphics tab.

2. Check the box for Use anti-aliasing to smooth lines.

3. Select Use for all views (disable individual view control).

4. (Recommended) Enable Use hardware acceleration (Direct3D®).
